It’s official! We’ve transitioned to a new executive leadership structure to accelerate business growth and maximize product value.
Effective January 31, Sean Yu, who has driven product growth at major technology companies and led product development at BoostDraft since 2024, has been appointed CEO. Haruku Horiuchi, who brings extensive experience managing large-scale organizations, has been appointed COO.
The company’s co-founders, Yohei Fujii and Hiroshi Watanabe, will continue to support our growth as advisors.
Founded in 2021, BoostDraft has grown rapidly under the leadership of its founding team, establishing a strong business foundation across Japan, South Korea, and other APAC markets, while expanding in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other international regions.
As large language model technologies continue to evolve at an unprecedented pace, BoostDraft is focused on delivering even greater value to customers and scaling as a globally competitive tech company. To do that, we need an efficient organizational structure that keeps product development highly responsive to legal teams around the world.
To support this evolution, the company has transitioned from a founder-led model to a leadership structure spearheaded by executives with deep expertise in product development and organizational scaling, strengthening BoostDraft’s position in the worldwide legal tech market.
Product-led growth has been one of BoostDraft’s core strengths since its founding. Under the new leadership structure, the company aims to elevate this approach to the next stage of growth.
Newly appointed CEO Sean Yu combines a proven track record of driving product growth at global technology companies with deep, firsthand knowledge of BoostDraft products gained through his role as Product Manager. By embedding this expertise across the organization, we’ll significantly enhance our products’ competitiveness, maximize customer value, and accelerate expansion into international markets.
To ensure consistent execution of this strategy, newly appointed COO Haruku Horiuchi will oversee business operations and organizational management. Drawing on his experience managing large-scale enterprises, he’ll translate the CEO’s strategy into scalable, repeatable operating systems, strengthening execution across a rapidly growing organization.
Since BoostDraft’s founding, we have pursued a product-first approach, establishing a strong business foundation across Japan, South Korea, and the United States. Building on this foundation, we are now entering a new phase focused on scaling the business significantly.
In the early stages of a company, success depends on the ability to break new ground from zero. As we move into the next phase, we need a different kind of capability: systems that standardize growth across the organization and enable consistent execution beyond the founders themselves.
At this point in our journey, appointing Sean, an expert in product growth, as CEO was a natural and necessary step for BoostDraft. During his year and a half as our Product Manager, Sean has developed a deeper understanding than anyone of both our product’s strengths and our customers’ core needs. We are confident in his leadership and his exceptional ability to translate strategy into scalable, repeatable systems.
Our goal is to embed Sean’s expertise as a standard across the entire organization, creating a structure in which every team member can continuously refine the product at a high level for our users. Under Sean’s leadership, we look forward to BoostDraft’s continued growth and to further improving productivity for legal professionals around the world.

Sean Yu, Chief Executive Officer
Sean has extensive experience catalyzing rapid business scaling at leading technology companies, including Wise, Skyscanner, and Alibaba. He’s led product management and global expansion initiatives, contributing to growth strategy and organizational development across multinational markets.
In August 2024, Sean joined BoostDraft as Product Manager and has since led product development through several exciting updates, with a keen eye for creating real value for practicing lawyers and legal professionals.

Haruku Horiuchi, Chief Operating Officer
Haruku has extensive experience in corporate strategy, M&A, and venture investment, having worked in the corporate strategy division at Yahoo Japan. At Rakuten Group, he led multinational product development organizations and managed teams of hundreds, aligning complex team structures and goals to drive both coordination and productivity.
In November 2025, Haruku joined BoostDraft in a strategy and business operations leadership role. He shared these thoughts with us:
